7 Years and Cereal Too!

I hope this finds all of you settling into a routine again after the Christmas week. We are settling here at the Najewicz household. I am trying to get Annaka into a better sleeping pattern. We are currently working on putting her to bed awake so that she can learn to fall asleep by herself in her crib. She has been doing pretty good....a little crying but then usually off to sleep. Tonight she was asleep in record time....only a few seconds of whimpering.

Annaka's four month doctor appointment was today. She is 26 inches long and weighs 17 pounds 7 ounces. She is in the 95th percentile for both her height and weight. She again got two shots but did really well with both...didn't even cry on the first one! The doctor and I talked a lot about sleep (or lack there of) and also eating. We are starting cereal three times a day and I am supposed to only give Annaka an ounce or two of food when she wakes at night. Doing this will slowly decrease her need for calories at night. Hopefully it works!

We gave Annaka her first feeding with a spoon this evening. She ate really well...and we were surprised at how well she accepted the spoon! We made the cereal pretty runny so she was able to keep most of it in her mouth. Hopefully since she ate the cereal from a spoon this time, we won't get the gas issues that we did before.
Derek and I celebrated our 7th Anniversary yesterday! Wow...time flies. We sure have had a lot of fun over the years! Last night added to the fun. Our friends Stephanie and Todd took care of Annaka for us while we went out to dinner. We went to Willow in Pittsburgh's North Hills. It was a great restaurant! We enjoyed wine, lettuce wraps, Cranberry Chicken for me, Beef Short Ribs Pasta for Derek, and Apple Crumb dessert! We also enjoyed the chance to talk and to be together as a couple for the evening! Then Annaka even gave me a present by waking only once in the night last night!
