Happy Easter

We had a lovely Easter with family this weekend. Annaka enjoyed the time spent with grandparents....in fact she enjoyed it so much that she didn't sleep much! Although that gave mommy a very relaxing morning today as Annaka slept from 9am to noon! Annaka looked so cute in her little Easter dress....so much fun dressing up a baby girl! It is becoming increasingly harder these days to get Annaka's attention for a picture. She is so curious about everything and it's hard to get her to look at the camera. Here she is much more interested in her shoe!

Annaka got a few little Easter gifts and was much more interested in the wrapping than she was at Christmas. It was fun to let her have at the tissue paper. This little farm animal book is a hit as it has soft things to touch on each page.

Annaka is moving around quite well these days. She can scoot quite purposefully and get where she wants to be. She can turn 360 degrees on her tummy (or in the sitting position). She isn't quite crawling but will get on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. She will also do "push ups" where she balances on her hands and toes. She is getting these movements more controlled and steady. It is amazing to see her progress each day. Soon she will be on the move....we have tried to warn our kitties but I don't think they understand! Here is Annaka on all fours....such a strong little one.
The other day she made her way over to our CD tower and pulled most of the CDs off of the first and second shelves.
Annaka has also found her toes and loves to put them in her mouth! Wow....she is flexible! This new found activity does add a new difficulty level when changing her diaper though. But it sure is cute! Love those little toes!!
We have been enjoying the nicer weather lately and the chance to be outside a bit more. The other day she played in these rocks for a good long time. She loved kicking her legs in the stones and making them move. And of course she had to taste one! A little closer to eating that pound of dirt that is required before turning 1.
And lastly.....just a cute picture that Derek snapped this evening. You can see her little teeth pretty well in this one. I love her smile even more now with two teeth peeking out.
